About this document

The document in detail.

The Husbandry Tracking Workbook is the digital companion to the four printable husbandry logs in the kit. Same fields, same target ranges, same species-specific guidance, but in a spreadsheet that calculates trends and flags anomalies automatically. The keeper picks paper or digital based on workflow preference, and many use both (paper at the rack for daily entries, spreadsheet for the long-term picture).

The workbook is built so the keeper opens it on a tablet or phone in the gecko room and enters daily values right after the evening check. Formulas in the Weight Log tab calculate change since last and percent change automatically. The Shed Log tab calculates days since last shed. Each tab has live target ranges referenced from the Animal Profile.

What the document does:

It runs six tabs in order. Setup is the orientation and instructions tab. Animal Profile captures all the fixed information about the gecko and provides target ranges. Daily Log captures 90 days of daily husbandry. Weight Log tracks 60 weigh-ins with auto-calculated change and percent change. Feeding Log tracks 120 feeding sessions. Shed Log tracks 30 shed events with auto-calculated days since last.

What is included:

  • Setup tab with how-to-use instructions and ReptiDex companion reference
  • Animal Profile tab with 10 fields plus target ranges by species
  • Daily Log tab with 90 rows and 9 columns (date, day, hot F, cool F, humidity, ate, drank, pooped, behavior notes)
  • Weight Log tab with 60 rows and live formulas for change since last and percent change
  • Feeding Log tab with 120 rows for food offered, quantity, supplements, and refusal notes
  • Shed Log tab with 30 rows and live formula for days since last shed
  • Frozen header rows on every data tab so headers stay visible during scroll

Format and how it works:

Editable spreadsheet (.xlsx) with live formulas. The xlsx works in Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, and Google Sheets. Most keepers keep the spreadsheet open on a phone or tablet in the gecko room and enter daily values right after the evening check.

Why this version is different:

Most reptile husbandry spreadsheets are static templates with no math. This one calculates weight trends and shed intervals automatically, which converts data entry into a real diagnostic tool. The 6-tab structure also keeps the kit's printable logs and the digital workbook field-compatible, so the keeper can switch between paper and digital without losing continuity.

Who this is for:

For gecko keepers who prefer a digital husbandry workflow over paper logs, and for breeders who want to give buyers both options at handoff. Pairs naturally with the Daily Husbandry Log, Weight Log, Feeding Log, and Shed Log (the print versions of the same data).

Updates

When the laws change, the document updates too.

You bought version 1. When a state adds a registry requirement, a new federal rule lands, or a working breeder catches something that belongs in the document, the new file shows up in your inbox. No upsell, no annual subscription, no "unlock by upgrading." The document is yours, updates included, forever.

Common questions

A few things before you buy.

The contracts were drafted with an attorney and pressure-tested across multiple working programs, but they are templates — not a substitute for a lawyer for your specific state's laws. Each file ships with a clear note about that. Most breeders use them as a starting point and have a local attorney review for state-specific edits.

XLSX. The XLSX opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers. Everything is editable.

When I ship a new version of this document, the new file lands in your inbox. Laws shift. A state adds a registry requirement. A working breeder tells me something that belongs in the document. The next version goes out to everyone who bought the previous one. No upsell, no annual subscription.

14-day no-questions-asked refund. If the documentdoesn't fit your operation, you get your money back and I'd genuinely like to hear why so the next version is better.

Yes, by a wide margin if you need more than two or three documents. The Keeper's Emergency Kit bundles this and every other keeper's emergency document for $18.50.
